The Samsung Galaxy Watch5 Pro is a solid smartwatch with a focus on outdoor fitness. Right now, the Samsung Galaxy Watch5 Pro is on sale for $199.99 (originally $449.99). According to various price comparison tools, this is the lowest price it has been. For reference, I covered this smartwatch on Feb. 10, when it dropped to the then-record low price of $299.99. However, this smartwatch is not for everyone.
The Watch5 Pro comes in one size, with a 45mm screen, so people with smaller wrists might find this smartwatch a bit too big. Also, unlike other Galaxy smartwatches, there's no physical rotating bezel to navigate the smartwatch's menu. Instead, the Pro version has a touch bezel, likely to avoid the possibility of dirt and gunk getting stuck in the physical bezel mechanism.
The "Bespoke" edition is also available for the same price, which is a steal. It offers stainless steel, a more premium band, and unique face watches to choose from.
The watch is water- and dust-resistant with an IP68 rating and has a sapphire scratch-resistant screen. It's based on the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5, with the same sensors, most of the same functionality, and the same interface. The Pro version doubles the battery life (up to 80 hours) and has extra outdoor features like "track back," which helps you retrace your steps in case you get lost. It can also import and export GPX files, so you can import routes from Strava from a friend, for example. You can read the "excellent" PCMag review here to see a more in-depth review.
The Galaxy Watch5 Pro watch is not for serious athletes, as it lacks features like recovery metrics, plus the battery is not made for multi-day activities. But if you're looking for a sporty smartwatch and don't need something super hardcore, this could be a good fit, especially for the record-low price.
